Bed of Ghosts was inspired by the albino deer I once spotted in the Sierras. I was spellbound by this ethereal sighting as if I had seen a ghost. In fact, they are known as ghost deer. I wanted to contrast the fragility of these glowing fawns against the dark mystery of the dormant forest. I have these delicate newborns lying in a protective nest of fallen branches and antlers.
