California is rich in dramatic coastline. You might catch a glimpse of this vista in Davenport if you happen to glance at the coast while you're speeding along Highway 1. In this painting I was interested in the tones of blue reflected on the cliffs and the deeper blue shadows cast by them onto the sea.
