This gorgeous antique mother of pearl fan was discovered as an exquisite vestige of its former self. After fixing the missing and broken ribs, I replaced the shreds of the former fan blade with silk organza and stitched radiating rainbows in hand-dyed silk thread, adding more for the tassel. It is exhibited in a custom, wall-mounted plexiglass frame as a reminder to fan joy.
