This wonderful young woman is someone that I have known since she was little and even then she was in love with all things red. When I came across her selfie (which this painting was based on), I asked her right away if I could paint her! I adored how she represented herself suffused in red and glowing as if from her own brilliant intensity. It was an absolute honor to paint her!
