I painted a number of these Sea Arches from Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz, I wanted to catch the water in suspended animation as the waves came in and out. The arch is what is left from the land bridge that was once connected to the mainland. Coastal erosion makes for a dynamic and ever changing seascape along the Pacific Coast.
