Even though this trio of pear trees is blanketed in golden lichen they still produce smattering of blooms in the spring. These trees are vestiges of the original orchards of the Picchetti Farm established in the 1880s in Cupertino, California and are slowly succumbing to the natural environment. I love the raking diagonals in this composition held in place by the linear, purple-blue trunks of the trees and the frothy canopy of branches and blossoms against the verdant, forced perspective background.
