Diana Leone – Featured Artist
Diana Leone is the featured artist this month of November at the Los Gatos Museums Art Gallery. You can catch her every Sunday from 11- 3 and enjoy cider and cookies while she paints. She’s good! I was chatting with her while she was whipping up a sunflower before my eyes and she didn’t miss a stroke. She said she works better under pressure and often uses a timer. That’s …

LGAA Fall Show 2012
It’s great to take part in the community art scene! Sunday was one of those unbearably beautiful fall days of bright blue skies and amber-red leaves and I made it to the opening reception of the Los Gatos Art Association Fall 2012 Juried Show at the Addison- Penzak Jewish Community Center with platter full of torrone in hand. Juror John Agg, executive director of the Art Museum of Los Gatos welcomed …

Shlepping Art Around Town
The thing about showing your art is that you need to shlep it around a bit but I’m up for it! Shell Grave is just too large for my Prius so instead of making other arrangements, I decided to walk it down to the Los Gatos Museums Gallery where it will hang for the next three months. We both got a little air and exercise and I’m sure we made …

Imprint & Last Stand Juried Into Show
Today I was informed that my paintings Imprint and Last Stand were selected by John Agg, Executive Director of the Los Gatos Museum of Art for the Los Gatos Art Association Fall 2012 Members Juried Show! The show will be held at the Jewish Community Center …

Scapes
I love these receptions at the Pacific Art League! I always run into old friends, meet new ones and fall in love with lots of paintings! Scapes was a big success, 35 paintings were selected from the 190 entries as far away as Connecticut. In addition to the first, second and third place awards juror Jim Caldwell generously awarded 5 honorable mentions, and I was delighted that my painting, Christy Ann’s Lace, was …

Queen Anne’s Lace in the Air
I was just dropping off Christy Ann’s Lace for installation in the Scapes show at The Pacific Art League when I noticed that directly above was Anna Jacke’s Queen Anne’s Lace watercolor, still hanging from the Waterworks exhibit. What are the odds! Representing sanctuary, this flower symbolizes complexity and delicacy – is Queen Anne’s Lace the new “it” flower? The reception for Scapes is this Friday, October 5, 5:30 -8:00 …

Cuong Nguyen’s Aspects
I find Cuong Nguyen’s portraits simply awe inspiring so it must be obvious what a delight it was for me to meet him in person at his opening reception for his show Aspects at the Triton Museum of Art! This artist is so genuinely warm and friendly it was easy to see how he must put his subjects immediately at ease and be granted access to peer into their souls! His …
