I will miss Christy Ann’s Lace hanging above my mantel, reminding me of my dear friend who took the original photograph and the spectacular if short summers of my childhood home in Nova Scotia. It’s good incentive to work on something new that moves me just as much!

Scapes
I love these receptions at the Pacific Art League! I always run into old friends, meet new ones and fall in love with lots of paintings! Scapes was a big success, 35 paintings were selected from the 190 entries as far away as Connecticut. In addition to the first, second and third place awards juror Jim Caldwell generously awarded 5 honorable mentions, and I was delighted that my painting, Christy Ann’s Lace, was among them.
Reception Tonight!
Come join me at the reception for Scapes tonight at the Pacific Art League where my painting, Christy Anne’s Lace will officially be awarded honorable mention! Oh yes – the rumor about wine and brownies is true! See you tonight 5:30 – 8:00 pm!

Queen Anne’s Lace in the Air
I was just dropping off Christy Ann’s Lace for installation in the Scapes show at The Pacific Art League when I noticed that directly above was Anna Jacke’s Queen Anne’s Lace watercolor, still hanging from the Waterworks exhibit. What are the odds! Representing sanctuary, this flower symbolizes complexity and delicacy – is Queen Anne’s Lace the new “it” flower?
The reception for Scapes is this Friday, October 5, 5:30 -8:00 I’ll be there with an entourage of friends!
